I spent my childhood in a small village in the Netherlands. Our house was near my father’s orchard. My father worked every day in the orchard. He was a keen fruit grower.
As a child I enjoyed working with my father. Picking apples and pears was a family business in the autumn.
During those years I started drawing and painting fruits laid down on the kitchen table.
As an adult I discovered the beauty of still life paintings in the museums of my country. Symbolic meanings were often attributed to still life paintings of the old masters.
Nowadays I create still life images using digital photography. The objects being photographed include fruits, eggs, bottles and dishes among other things.
I hope you enjoy looking at some of the pictures on my website.
